232 years ago, the United States declared independence from England. To show there are no hard feelings, British Airways invites travelers in the colonies to celebrate with round-trip discount Business Class airfares to London from six US gateways for $1,776—quite a deal.

But tarry not (after reading below) ... though this 21-day advance rate applies to travel through Dec. 31, 2008, flights must be booked by midnight Sunday, July 6. Discount Business Class airfares are valid for travel Sunday through Wednesday from Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, New York (JFK and Newark), Philadelphia and Washington, DC to London.

Prefer to book the Independence Day special on a carrier flying The Stars and Stripes? Plenty have come on board. Will Virgin's Upper Class join in? It’s worth biding your time to find out (considering the mileage-earning opportunities with partners). BA’s offer is a nice fit for those not affiliated with a mileage program, but having no major US mileage-earning partners weakens the deal.
