The Best Premium Economy seat to London is Virgin Atlantic's Premium Economy seat.
Measuring 21 inches wide, it's the biggest Premium Economy seat by three inches, and equivalent to many other airlines' Business Class seats.
To put this in perspective, here are some other carriers' Business Class seat widths (in inches): American, 20; Continental, 20 to 22; Delta, 18.5 to 20; Northwest, 20.25; and United, 19 to 20.5.

Covered in sumptuous purple leather, the Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy seat features ample legroom (the seat pitch is 38 inches) and an additional two degrees of recline. An adjustable lumbar support, flexible headrest and new footrest, combined with laptop power and a redesigned table, make the Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy seat a comfortable place in which to work or relax.
Granted, the legroom and recline are less than most Business Class seats, but when youre not sleeping, its the seat width that counts. The Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy seat blows away the competition, which means Virgin may hike Premium Economy fares.
The new Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy seat is already available on selected flights and is currently rolling out across the carrier's London Heathrow fleet. The roll out will continue across its London Gatwick fleet through 2008.

I am in the process of upgrading 2 tickets from Premium Economy to Business Class on Thai Airways (from JFK to Bangkok). Upgrades were only available on the return flight, requiring 35,000 miles each. From what I'd read in FCF, I was confused about the number of miles to transfer from our Starwoods account to reach the 35,000 miles. I understood that 20,000 miles gets you a bonus of 5,000 miles when you transfer. But the reference to it as a 25% miles bonus threw me. It wasn't mentioned that the transfered miles must be in 20,000 miles incriments in order to get the bonus. So, in order to get to 35,000 each, I bought and transferred 28,000 into each account. But I came up short (2,000 miles each) because I got the 5,000 bonus on the first 20,000 miles only. Note: At 3.5 cents per mile, I would have been better off buying and transferring only 20,000 miles and buying the remaining 10,000 miles for each upgrade from Thai Airways, at 3 cents/ mile, instead. Plus, I would have saved myself a lot of time. But I keep reminding myself that if it were not for FCF, I wouldn't be getting this great deal in the first place!
