The United Airlines Business Class Seat Aboard a B757 is More Spacious than Expected
United Airlines offers “premium service” (p.s.) aboard B757s between New York and Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The Business Class cabin on these flights feels extraordinarily roomy, owing to a seven-foot open area between rows eight and nine to serve the emergency exits. That means you should try for a Business Class seat in row nine, if possible.

Premium service B757 aircraft have 12 lie-flat First Class seats, plus 26 Business Class seats, and another 72 seats in the all-Economy Plus coach cabin.
The First Class seats are essentially the Singapore Airlines’ Business Class “Space Bed,” minus some of the entertainment features.
The Business Class seats are the ones featured on United’s international flights. They have extendable footrests, adjustable lumbar support, individual reading lamps, and an adapter–free 110-volt power outlet for laptops.
Most importantly, these Business Class seats push back -- way back. The rows are spaced far enough apart so that you don’t feel penned in if the passenger in the row ahead pushes back to full recline.
