Find Northwest Airlines Latest Upgrade Opportunities in Your Inbox
There are many ways to upgrade on Northwest, and sometimes you might find a valuable opportunity right in your email inbox.
In an effort to introduce new members to the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks mileage program, and rein in some who have strayed, the carrier is running a promotion where teamwork can help participants score up to 20,000 bonus milesenough to net you a Business or First Class upgrade.
Each team in the Great Race will include three players who havent earned Northwest Airlines WorldPerks miles since Jan. 1, 2006, and a captain (for whom the miles-earning restrictions dont apply). The objective is for the team to travel 25,000 miles collectively, for which each member will receive 20,000 bonus frequent flyer miles. For less ambitious teams, there are also rewards at 2,500, 5,000, 15,000, and 20,000 levels.

Here are some paraphrased highlights from the long list of very specific terms and conditions youll certainly want to read carefully: Captains must register their teams for this promotion by May 15, 2008. All qualifying travel must be completed by May 31, 2008. Qualifying travel must be a round-trip flight on paid, published economy, Business, or First Class fares on Northwest-operated flights ... I could go on and on, but let Northwest tell you about it at: : http://www.nwa.com/cgi-bin/greatrace.cgi
If this plan works for you and your team, its a good incentive. Have fun.
