Rare Domestic First Class Airfare War through Friday

It’s been a long summer with little relief from high fares, as airlines have made hanging onto a buck into an Olympic sport. AirTran, however, is loosening its grip on premium fares to close the season with a rare special on domestic Business Class travel, offering fares as low as $134, one-way.

American, Delta and Continental are showing some team spirit by matching fares on some routes, too (hit and miss). Unfortunately, these Business and First Class airfare bargains are only available for about as long as it takes Michael Phelps to cross a hot tub… so act now!

SAMPLE ROUND-TRIP FIRST CLASS FARES

Chicago-Miami / $528 / AirTran, Continental

Dallas-Orlando / $406 / AirTran, American, Continental, Delta

Los Angeles-Atlanta / $498 / AirTran, Continental, Delta

New York-Atlanta / $358 / AirTran, Delta

The ticketing deadline is Friday Aug. 22, for travel through Oct. 8, 2008. Fares require a three-day advance purchase. Blackout dates are Aug. 28, 29 and Sept. 1, 2. No round-trip or Saturday-night stay is necessary.
